about

After two amazing 7" efforts on Sunday Records, the long awaited mini-album is finally here. Without any doubt, "Pinstripes & Englishmen" will fulfill every expectation that indie pop fans have of The Proctors. "Daddy's Monster" starts everything off in typical Proctors fashion with an upbeat feel that carries with it a sense of bliss along with some earnest energy. With more moveable melodies than most bands can conjure over a series of albums, Christina's gorgeous voice surfaces on most of these songs while Gavin sings alone on the somber "Sometimes". Even though The Proctors allow the tempos and textures to change from one song to the next, they never move away the sweet melancholy that has always made their records so attractive. Give the disc a listen and you will find yourself an instant fan. - Dutch East

Boy, is this a nice album !!!! Seven tracks of divine pop. "Daddy's Monster" is fuzzy pop guitar with light innocent vocals. Very Primitives, "Jupiter Hollow" is light jangle delight with a heaven sent string background. "Sometimes" is very Blueboy. A light harmonica adds a nice charm. "The Other Side of The River" is a flowing happy jaunt. And Richard Thompson's "Farewell Farewell" is haunting and uplifting at the same time. A gorgeous collection of pop-lite. Perfect for sunday morning coffee with a hint of chocolate english toffee. Delicious !!! --
